PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2024

School is out for some of us, and for others it may mean a holiday from work. For those of you with some free time this month, it’s time to catch up on our trophy hunting. To help with this, Sony has unveiled their PlayStation Plus free games July 2024 line-up which will be available next week on Tuesday, July 2.

First, there’s Borderlands 3, the first-person action shooter with RPG elements, developed by Gearbox Software. Shoot and loot your way across the Borderlands as you take on a crazed ult known as The Children of the Vault. As with the previous entries, Borderlands 3 allows for single-player, as well as online and split-screen co-op.

Next, there’s NHL 24, last year’s ice hockey simulation game by EA Vancouver. New features include full crossplay for Hockey Ultimate Team and World Of Chel, as well as new control skill moves.

Lastly, there’s Among Us developed by Innersloth. Described as an online party-game in space, players control cartoon astronauts who are either Crewmates, or one of the Imposters. Successfully vote out the Imposters before you find yourself betrayed.

Among the PlayStation Plus free games July 2024 line-up, all three games have platinum trophies to unlock. Also, all three games are available for both the PS4 and PS5.

Obtaining the platinum for Among Us is the quickest and easiest of the three. If you have four players to boost with, the platinum can be unlocked in only 4-5 hours. Since this game is cross-plat, boosting can be done if you have the game on multiple devices. Otherwise, expect a bit more luck and around 20 hours for the platinum without boosting.

Getting the platinum for Borderlands 3 is slightly below-average in terms of difficulty. There are only two online trophies, and both can be unlocked in a few minutes. This one is more time-consuming than challenging, and will take around 50-60 hours of gameplay.

The platinum for NHL 24 is not particularly easy, as it includes some challenging, and even frustrating, trophies to unlock. Also, reaching level 50 in the World Of Chel can be quite a long grind. Those who have played other games in the NHL series may have better luck, but overall expect around 60-70 hours of gameplay for this one.

Lastly, in addition to the PlayStation Plus free games July 2024 line-up, Sony is also giving away a Genshin Impact Pack, which includes in-game rewards such as Primogems, Fragile Resin, and more. Genshin Impact is a free-to-play action-RPG by Chinese developer miHo Yo.

PlayStation Plus Free Games May 2024

Hopefully the weather outside is finally beginning to warm up, depending on where you live. And if not, why not stay indoors and play some games? Sony has just unveiled their PlayStation Plus free games May 2024 line-up which will be available for download on Tuesday, May 7.

First, there’s Ghostrunner 2, the action-platformer developed by One More Level, and a sequel to the 2020 Ghostrunner. In this first-person game, players traverse environments by jumping, wall-running, and swinging from a grappling hook, while battling enemies with either a sword or special abilities. Play as Jack as he ventures beyond the Dharma Tower in order to battle against a cyber ninja AI cult.

Next, there’s EA Sports FC 24, the football/soccer simulation game developed jointly by EA Vancouver and EA Romania. One of the major upgrades to this version in the series is the PlayStyles, a feature which better represents the real player’s unique styles.

Lastly, there’s Tunic, the 2022 action-adventure game developed by Isometricorp Games. Players control a fox armed with a sword and shield, and venture into a post-apocalyptic fantasy world freely, without any directions or instructions.

Among the PlayStation Plus free games May 2024 line-up, both EA Sports FC 24 and Tunic are available for both the PS4 and PS5, while Ghostrunner 2 is only for the PS5. Also, all three games have a platinum trophy to unlock.

By far, Tunic has the easiest platinum to obtain. Provided that you set the “No-Fail” mode on, and follow a guide, the platinum can be unlocked in just around 10 hours.

For those of you who obtained the platinum on the first Ghostrunner, you should have an idea of what to expect for Ghostrunner 2. However, the platinum for this game is arguably more challenging and time consuming than its predecessor, as there are several more miscellaneous trophies to work on. Expect around 25-30 hours of gameplay for this one, depending on your skills.

Lastly, while the single-player trophies for EA Sports FC 24 are not particularly difficult, especially if you already have experience with this series, the ease of getting the online trophies entirely depends if you are boosting or not. Expect well over 100 hours for this platinum.

Also, as an added bonus, Sony is including the Destiny 2: Lightfall expansion this month, giving Destiny 2 players even more reason to avoid going outside.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is a third-person shooter and a sequel to the 2014 game, which in turn was inspired by the Plants vs. Zombies tower defense game on the smartphone. Similar to the previous installment, players select to be either Plants or Zombies and partake in co-operative or competitive multiplayer missions. Garden Warfare 2 adds eight new Plants and Zombie classes, a new Herbal Assault mode where Zombies must defend bases from Plants, a Backyard Battleground mode where players can explore in a hub world, and the ability to play all modes either in solo or split-screen multiplayer.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 received positive reviews with an average score of 82%, praised for its overall fun, and being a vast improvement over the previous installment.

The game is significantly easier than the previous installment, but significantly longer as well. Like the first game, Garden Warfare 2 is online, though can be played solo. There are a few multiplayer trophies, which can either be gotten by boosting, or in split-screen if you have a second controller. Overall, the Platinum is not difficult for any average player, though will require much time, specifically for vanquishing 5000 zombies and 5000 plants.

Expect around 60-70 hours, depending on skills.

The game doesn't require much of a roadmap, as you're free to work on whichever trophies you like in any order. However, if you're in need of some direction, we recommend starting with the Backyard Battleground. As you go through both the Plant and Zombie missions, remember to complete quests posted on the quest board, specifically 10 Epic Quests which you'll need for the Really Epic trophy. Going through the Backyard Battleground will also unlock a number of trophies automatically.

Once that's done, it's basically a matter of targeting and unlocking any trophies you're still missing at this point. Remember to check out the Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you need and their requirements.

There are three multiplayer trophies to unlock. The Playdate trophy for either visiting a friend's Backyard Battleground or having a friend visit yours, the Who Can You Trust trophy for vanquishing a friend in their Background Battleground, and the Prance Vs Samba trophy making a gesture after vanquishing a player. These three trophies can easily be unlocked in split-screen with a second controller. If you don't have a second controller, then visit one of the boosting forums under our Links tab.

Most likely the last two trophies you'll need is Rinsed Em for vanquishing 5000 zombies, and Gramma Z Says for vanquishing 5000 plants. A good place to grind this is in the center of the battleground. After you raise the flag and complete the boss wave, you'll be bombarded by an endless number of enemies. This can be repeated for both the Plants and Zombies.
