PlayStation Plus Free Games September 2022

Enjoying your summer holidays? No? Well, Sony has the answer for you! Here is the next line up of PlayStation Plus free games September 2022 available for download on Tuesday, September 6.

First, for the PS4, there’s Need for Speed Heat, the 24th entry in the Need for Speed series. Released in 2019, players compete in the SpeedHunters Showdown while attempting escape from the police bent on taking down street racers.

Next, also for the PS4, there’s Granblue Fantasy: Versus, a 2D fighting game based on the Grandblue Fantasy RPG series. With a total roster of 25 characters, players control Gran who takes on other characters in fighting combat while exploring a unique storyline.

Lastly, for the PS5, there’s Toem, first released last year by developer Something We Made. Described as a photography game, players make their way up a mountain in an attempt to witness a mysterious an occurrence known as a Toem.

All three games in the PlayStation Plus free games September 2022 line-up have Platinum trophies to unlock.

If you have a PS5, then Toem will be the easiest Platinum of the three. The game itself is fairly easy to complete, particularly if you are following a guide, and requires only 5-6 hours of gameplay.

The Platinum for Granblue Fantasy: Versus is below-average in terms of difficulty, even for players lacking experience in fighting games. Expect anywhere between 15-20 hours of gameplay for the Platinum, depending on both skill and luck.

Lastly, while some of the drifting challenges can be tricky, the Platinum for Need for Speed Heat is overall average in terms of difficulty, though will need roughly 40  hours of gameplay.

Need for Speed Payback

Need for Speed Payback is a racing game and the twenty-third installment in the Need for Speed series. The game is set in the fictional open-world of Fortune Valley, based on Las Vegas, featuring a day-night cycle, both single-player and online multiplayer, and a focus on action driving. The game includes a total of 74 vehicles.

Ty, Mac, and Jess are part of a small crew in Fortune Valley, who are offered a job to steal a limited edition car. However, after things go sour due to betrayal, the characters are out to get some payback.

Need for Speed Payback received mixed reviews with an average score of 62%, praised for its fill of content and overall improvements over its predecessor, but criticized for its controls and handling, linear storyline, and over abundance of micro-transactions.

While there are a few tricky challenges, the Platinum is overall more time consuming than difficult. There are plenty of collectibles to find, some grinding to reach REP level 50, and a few other miscellaneous objectives which any player with average racing skills can achieve. The game includes 4 online trophies which are mainly for participating in events and races or fulfilling objectives, rather than winning the races themselves. Overall, not the easiest Platinum in the Need for Speed series, but certainly doable.

Expect around 40-45 hours for the Platinum, depending on your racing skills.

There are no missable trophies to worry about, so start things off by playing through and completing the campaign, where you'll be unlocking all the story-related trophies. Along the way, if you wish, you can go after some of the collectibles, or miscellaneous trophies, to save a bit of time later. If so, then be sure to check out the Need for Speed Payback trophy guide links under our Links tab. Or, you can just play through and save those for later. It's up to you.

Once you've finished the Campaign, there are a number of collectible-related trophies to grab. This includes smashing 30 billboards for the Does Not Obey trophy, and 100 Gambler Chips to collect for the All In trophy.

You'll also want to complete, and get a 3 Star Rating, on all activities in the game, which include Speed Traps, Speed Runs, and Drift Zones. Your ultimate goal here is to unlock the Active Lifestyle trophy for completing everything, though you'll earn a few other trophies automatically during your progress.

Finally, it's time to mop-up all remaining trophies. Most likely, this will include the Top Dog trophy for reaching REP level 50. Again, check out the Need for Speed Payback trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you still need, and their requirements.

At any point, you can hop into multiplayer to unlock those four online trophies. These include completing a daily challenge for A Daily A Day trophy, completing all five events in a single speedlist for the First Strike Is Deadly trophy, completing 10 events in ranked speedlists for The Climb trophy, and beating an autolog recommendation for the Friendly Competition trophy.

Need for Speed

Need for Speed is an online open-world racing game and the twenty-second installment in the Need for Speed series. Taking place in the fictional city of Ventura Bay which is based on Los Angeles, players participate in five types of gameplay, which include Speed, Style, Build, Crew, and Outlaw. As players progress, they earn reputation points as well as money which can be used to purchase new vehicles and modifications.

A group of small-time racers compete in street races, hoping one day to get noticed and meet their racer icons.

Need for Speed received mixed reviews with an average score of 67%, praised for its visuals, environment, and customization, though criticized for its AI rubber-banding and issues with the game being always online.

Despite being an online-only game, Need for Speed plays like a single player, which means no boosting necessary nor winning against online opponents. The game is fairly average in terms of both skills and time required. The majority of the trophies are story related, with only a few miscellaneous, one of which will require some grinding.

Expect roughly around 30 hours for the Platinum, depending on your racing skills.

Start by simply playing through the main storyline, which is made up of five mini-stories related to the in-game characters. Each mini-story has about 15 races to complete, with modes depending on the characters. Speed races are with Spike, Style is with Manu, Crew is with Robyn, Outlaw is with the Outlaw, and Build is with Amy.

A good percentage of the trophies are story related, which means once you've completed the five mini-stories, you will automatically unlock most of the trophies.

After that, it's a matter of mopping up the miscellaneous trophies. This will probbly include some grinding for reaching Reputation Level 50 for the Can I Get Your Autograph? trophy. You'll also need to complete 15 daily challenges for the Serious Fun trophy. There are three challenges offered each day, with random objectives. So technically this means that if you're able to complete all three each day, the Serious Fun trophy will require five days to unlock.

Need for Speed: The Run

Need for Speed: The Run is a racing game, and the eighteenth title in the Need for Speed franchise. Players engage in street racing across real locations in the US, while overtaking and damaging other cars in a hybrid style of arcade and simulated racing. It is the first game in the series to allow the driver out of the car and travel on foot, as well as include a rewind following a crash. Online multiplayer is also included, with up to 8 players.

Jackson "Jack" Rourke is a mechanic and street racer, who owes money to the mob after starting his own business. Jack decides the only way out of his situation is to flee from the mob until he can enter a street racing event named "The Run," which will earn him enough money to pay them back.

Need for Speed: The Run received mixed reviews, with an average score of 66%, praised for its courses and racing experience, but criticized for the story, poor AI, and shortness of the game.

Quite possibly the most difficult in the Need for Speed series to Plat, as it requires some serious driving skills, a lot of time, and even luck. Some of the online trophies are quite challenging, and reaching level 30 will be a long grind. Also, many of the offline challenges will require some skills, as well.

Heavily depending on your skills, and even luck with the online trophies, this Platinum can take anywhere between 35-50 hours of gameplay.

You'll first want to play through the story portion of the game. Yes, there's a trophy for completing the game on Extreme Difficulty, but there's an easy way around this, if you prefer. After you've completed the game on Easy, or whichever mode you prefer, and have unlocked Extreme, visit the stage select and choose stage 10 - East Coast. Once you're at position 2 after beating the Mercedez-Benz and the next race begins, hit start and change the difficulty to Extreme. Now, it's just a matter of completing the final race to unlock the Win At Winning trophy! If you've having trouble with the last race, check out the video demonstration by TurboReiji under our Links tab.

During your initial playthrough, you'll want to also complete each of the Challenges and earn at least a gold for each, to unlock their specified trophy. There are 9 silver trophies for each of the set of challenges, which become available during the course of the game.

Once you've finished all that, you can head into multiplayer and start working on those 27 online trophies. The What Else You Got? will require someone in your friends list to have this game, in order to accept their challenge and beat their time score. So either start making friends online, check out the boosting forums under our Links tab, or simply use/make another account.

While reaching Level 30 will be the biggest grind, and most likely your last online trophy to collect, you'll want to focus on getting the Choices, One For All, and Bonus Wheel trophies out of the way, as these are not only the more difficult ones, but somewhat luck-based as well. After, just keep grinding until you hit Level 30 and unlock the Legendary trophy.

Finally, once all the online trophies are completed, you can head back into offline and mop-up anything you're still missing.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Trophy Guide

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Trophy Guide. Difficulty: ***  A racing game and the sixteenth title in the Need for Speed series. The Platinum is more time consuming than difficult, with online trophies that can be challenging without boosting.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a racing video game, and the sixteenth title in the Need for Speed series. The game takes place in the fictional Seacrest County, where players compete in several types of races in an open world, featuring over 100 miles (60 km) of open road, and online multiplayer.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit received positive reviews, with an average score of 88%, praised for its graphics, beautiful setting, variety of gameplay, and overall fun.

With a boosting partner, this game's difficulty rating could be brought down to a 2-star, as you will need to play a total of 50 online games and meet all of the requirements. Given the game's age, this can be challenging to do without a partner.

The offline trophies can be tricky, such as getting gold medals in all the races. But for the most part, the game is more time consuming than challenging, particularly for players who are familiar with the Need for Speed series.

Overall, expect a minimum of 30 hours for the Platinum, and more if you don't have a boosting partner.

The first step is to select either a racer or cop, then play through the single player mode. It doesn't matter which you choose first, but we recommend completing everything you need to, including earning all the golds or distinctions, before switching to the other.

Once you've finished your playthroughs as both cop and racer, you can move on to the online trophies. There are 10 in total. These are possible to do on your own, though given the game's age, the challenging part is finding people to play with - and you'll need to complete a total of 50 races to earn all the trophies. If you're looking for a boosting partner, check out the forums under our Links tab.

Once you have all 10 online trophies unlocked, it's simply a matter of mopping-up any offline trophies you may still be missing. Check out the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you need to do for each.
