PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2018

Summer is upon us, and while the weather is cooking up outside, it’s a great idea to hide inside and cool down with some games. So without further ado, here are the PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2018, available for download on Tuesday, July 3.

For the PlayStation 4, there’s Heavy Rain, the noir-ish mystery originally released on the PS3 in 2010 where players control four different characters and explore multiple endings while attempting to find a child kidnapped by the Origami Killer before time runs out. And Absolver, an action RPG with an emphasis on martial arts, set in the fictional open-world of Adal where proving worthiness is paramount.

On the PlayStation 3, there’s Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess, a strategy game where enemies must be defeated by luring them into traps. And Rayman 3 HD, the platformer originally released on sixth generation consoles, featuring Rayman as he kicks and punches his way to saving the Crossroad of Dreams.

And for the PlayStation Vita, there’s Space Overlords, where player-characters must join their brothers to purge the growing evil that has been slowly destroying the cosmos. And Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma, an interactive story with puzzles, where nine characters have been locked in an underground bomb shelter and are forced to play a game of death.

Among the PlayStation Plusย free games July 2018, with the exception of Rayman 3 HD, all games have Platinum trophies to unlock. Among them, Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma is by far the easiest, requiring only five or six hours if following a guide and text-skipping. Heavy Rain is also fairly doable for any average gamer, needing more time than skill. Meanwhile, both Absolver and Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess have some pretty tough trophies to unlock, especially the online ones without boosting.

PlayStation Plus Free Games June 2018

It may have taken awhile for the announcement, but to be fair, the first Tuesday of June is almost a week away. After much anticipation, Sony has announced their next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games June 2018 which will be available for download on Tuesday, June 5.

On the PlayStation 4, there’s the turn-based tactics game XCOM 2, in which the military, after losing the war against an alien invasion, has dwindled down to a resistance group. And Trials Fusion, a platforming racer where players control a motorcycle in a physics-based 2D setting, avoiding obstacles and hazards on the way to the finish line.

For the PlayStation 3, there’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, the third-person cover-based tactical shooter that places highly trained special-ops soldiers in dangerous warzones, set in the near future. And Zombie Driver HD: Complete Edition, a top-down vehicular combat game set during a zombie apocalypse, where players use a variety of vehicles and weapons to take down hoards of the undead.

And on the PlayStation Vita, there’s Atomic Ninjas, an online multiplayer action platformer game in which players battle players and bots using a range of ninja weapons and gadgets. And Squares, a puzzle game where players need to change grey squares into blue against the clock.

Among the PlayStation Plus free games June 2018, XCOM 2, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, and Zombie Driver HD: Complete Edition, have Platinum trophies to unlock. Among these, Zombie Driver HD is by far the easier of the three, requiring about 18 hours of playing. Meanwhile, both XCOM 2 and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier have fairly challenging Platinums that require roughly 100 hours.

Also, Atomic Ninjas is rather easy and not too time consuming to unlock 100% of the trophies, particularly if you have plenty of spare controllers or boosting partners.

PlayStation Plus Free Games May 2018

It’s that time of the month again, where Sony unveils their next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games May 2018, which will be available for download on Tuesday, May 1.

For the PlayStation 4, there’s Beyond: Two Souls, the revamp of the original PS3 title by the creators of Heavy Rain, an interactive adventure about a young woman named Jodie and her incorporeal entity Aiden. And Rayman Legends, a platformer featuring Rayman and his friends who must fight the spreading monsters and save the Glade of Dreams.

On the PlayStation 3, there’s Eat Them!, where players create their own monsters and head off on a rampage. And Risen 3: Titan Lords, the 2015 RPG in which the Nameless Hero must battle hordes of enemies in a world abandoned by its gods and suffering from the rampaging Titans.

Finally, for the PlayStation Vita, there’s Furmins, the physics-based puzzle game originally released for the iOS, where players must help the fuzzy Furmins reach their goals. And King Oddball, a puzzle game somewhat in style to Angry Birds, featuring over 120 levels. King Oddball is a cross-plat with both the PS3 and PS4.

Among the free games for May 2018, Beyond: Two Souls, Rayman Legends, and Risen 3: Titan Lords have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Between the three, Beyond: Two Souls is by far the easiest, though will require a few playthroughs and 25-30 hours of your time. Also, both Eat Them! and Furmins are not too difficult with a guide, each requiring roughly 8 hours to unlock 100% of the trophies.

PlayStation Plus Free Games April 2018

Sony has just unveiled their next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games April 2018, which seems to be a mix of gems and dusty stones.

On the PlayStation 4, we have Mad Max, the action-adventure open-world based on the popular anti-hero from the Australian film series, as Max seeks revenge on dangerous raiders while also engaging in vehicular combat to survive the post-apocalyptic world. And TrackMania Turbo, a racing game that has players zooming across 200 different tracks across four different locations while performing stunts for those extra points.

For the PlayStation 3, there’s In Space We Brawl, a twin-stick shooter featuring space battles with up to four players. And Toy Home, another racing game, this one involving a toy car in a search for coins and hidden medals while performing stunts and reaching the next checkpoint before the timer runs out.

And on the PlayStation Vita, there’s 99Vidas, a brawler with references to 80’s and 90’s culture in a classic 18-bit style. And Q-Bert Rebooted, the classic arcade game which features new enemies, power-ups, and playable characters as you hop your way clearing blocks while avoiding enemies. Both 99Vidas and Q-Bert Rebooted are cross-plat with the PS3 and PS4.

Among the freebies for April, Mad Max, TrackMania Turbo, and 99Vidas have Platinum trophies to unlock. Mad Max is fairly average in terms of difficulty, though will require around 70 hours of gameplay. Also, it should be noted that since Toy Home was released in 2007 before trophy support, the game has no trophies to unlock.

PlayStation Plus Free Games March 2018

Perhaps it was a means to ease the blow of Sony‘s earlier announcement regarding dropping PS3 and Vita games from their list of freebies, or a way to boost those memberships at the end of the fiscal year (which traditionally ends in March, here in Japan). Whatever the reason, Sony has some great titles for their PlayStation Plus free games March 2018.

For the PlayStation 4, there’s Bloodborne, the action RPG set in a Gothic, Victorian era by the same makers as the Dark Souls series. And Ratchet & Clank, the platforming action sci-fi adventure and remake from the original PS2 title.

On the PlayStation 3, we’ve got Legend of Kay Anniversary, a remaster of the original PS2 title featuring martial art combat, platforming, and puzzle solving as we follow the exploits of a hotheaded young cat named Kay. And Mighty No. 9, a 2D side-scrolling action shooter set in the same classic style as the Mega Man series. Mighty No. 9 is also a cross-plat with the PS4.

Finally, the PlayStation Vita will be getting Claire: Extended Cut, a story-driven psychological horror, where the protagonist Claire is on her way to visit her sick mother when she inadvertently finds herself in a dark world filled with mystery. And Bombing Busters, an action battle game in the spirit of Bomberman, where players help a scientist dispose of the random critters by blowing them up. Both Claire: Extended Cut and Bombing Busters are cross-play with the PS4.

Excluding Bombing Busters, all free games for March 2018 have Platinum trophies to unlock. Among them, Ratchet & Clank is by far the easiest, particularly for those with experience in the series, requiring about 20 hours of gameplay. Also, Claire: Extended Cut is not particularly difficult if following closely to a guide, and needs only 5-6 hours. Also, both Mighty No. 9 and Legend of Kay Anniversary is rather average in terms of difficulty and requires 30 hours. While Bloodborne is a fantastic title, expect some rather challenging trophies and about 60-70 hours of your time.
